Repurposing old stuff- including this blog!

June 30th, 2011

I was happy to find that the pictures on my blog were sizing correctly again.  But I have since started a  facebook business page and I think there is very little chance that I will be uploading session pics to both my blog and my facebook page.  So I’ve decided to use this blog as a sort of creative dumping ground for myself for now.  Since we started building our home my head has been spinning with ideas and projects.  I’m obsessed with everything home decor related.  My style has significantly changed in the last year or so and I couldn’t just go buy all new things, so I’m glad to see that repurposing is IN (otherwise I couldn’t find so many awesome ideas online). My neighbors and friends think I’m a super crafty girl, which is funny to me, since I have never been one of those.  But I’ve found lots of things online that I wanted to try, so I’m going to post some of my projects and whatever else I feel like posting!  Maybe some favorite photos of the kids, yummy recipes to try, but I’m being optimistic.

Mini’s

September 30th, 2010

I thought Friday Oct. 15th would be a good day for mini-sessions.  Call and schedule if you are interested.

This Year’s Pic

September 21st, 2010

I wasn’t sure I should make a  big deal about pics this year.  Ellis is nothing but a baby (see “Bread and Jam for Frances”), just a squishy ball that hardly shows up.  It’s just more fun when they’re big enough to show their personality.  A couple of friends got me excited about it and helped me out, it was so fun and we got a good one for this year.  I like the ones with my kids sans parents best though. One of my friends (with the gorgeous red hair there) made the little pillow case dresses and the other one (rockabilly babe) procured the location and came up with the ideas for the sessions.  I’m proud to have such true and talented visionaries as friends.  I’ll have to post a close up of the headbands I made.  I’m all over anything involving a glue gun or staples.  Okay, sorry about the itty bitty images.  For some reason this doesn’t want to work today.  Any ideas as to why?

Mini Sessions

September 14th, 2010

I haven’t planned any mini-sessions for the fall yet.  I’m still trying to catch up from crazy August. I guess the first person who calls can choose the mini-session day. They will be 20 minutes each and the session fee is $20.  The disk can be purchased at a lower price as well.  Oh, and all that stuff I said about fall in my last post, I didn’t mention allergies.  Ick.

Baby Ellis

September 1st, 2010

I promised people I’d put some pics of El up on my blog.  She’s two months old now.  I don’t know why I resist blogging, it’s really not so bad! I’m not taking enough pictures of her either.  I didn’t even do a two month session, but I’m trying to remember to stop and take a snapshot every once in awhile.  I LOVE this fall-like weather.  Soon the trees will be gorgeous shades of orange and red and yellow.  Let’s just not think about what comes after that.

Christmas Cards

September 24th, 2009

In the past, I have shown clients a couple of Christmas or baby card options created by myself or another photographer.  However recently I purchased a set of baby announcement cards and added them as a gallery for clients to choose from.  I was wondering about making a gallery for Christmas cards as well.  Here are some I found that I love.  What do you think?

Back to Blogging

September 24th, 2009

I stopped blogging for awhile to simplify my life.  I put it back up, mostly because I thought some might find the information on the right to be helpful.  I also plan to post any specials or mini-sessions.  I probably won’t post as many post session peeks, it’s just one of those things I don’t seem to get done.  But I may want to post some personal things from time to time.  We’ll give this thing another try!

Sassy Senior

March 23rd, 2009

She was actually just very sweet and real, very easy going.  Also, it was freezing cold and she was a trooper.  I had my coat and she had a t shirt and a little dress.  I was excited to try out a new spot I’ve been eyeing. Her dress went perfectly with it.

This little bug’s mom and I tried and tried to get him to sleep but he wasn’t having it.  Luckily he cooperated with us just enough for me to get some great shots.   He is going to make some great trouble with his big brother some day!
