More Romance

Here’s another great couple I had the good fortune to photograph.  We shot in some awsome locations and I love the results.  They were also very patient with me when I drove to the wrong second location.  I think my brain was on autopilot for awhile.  It’s a good thing I’m planning to take it easy for a couple of weeks.  My brain needs a break…I also need those orange shoes.

Rolly Polly Newborn

I don’t know if I’ve ever had a rolly polly newborn.  This guy was over 11 lbs at birth! It was fun to photograph him because he was just so round and sweet.  He was awake for most of the session as well but he was good for us.  I have too many favorites from this session.

This sweet thing was so tiny.  I couldn’t believe she fit in that basket!  Her mom and dad are the nicest people.  They are so excited to have her and are going to be great parents.  She looked a little concerned most of the time, but when she smiled it was amazing.  I just love this expression.

My second favorite topic- Food

Sunday, July 13th, 2008

I thought I’d do a restaurant review since food is one of the great loves of my life.  I also like to pass the word on when I find a restaurant in town that is not a nationwide chain.  Help me in the fight against becomming pod-people and support local businesses.  Send money for the cause if you like, I’ll put it to good use.  Like it could pay for my food and I’ll write some more reviews.

The other day we decided to check out the new Canyon Crest Restaurant.  I told my dh that atmosphere is of the utmost importance.  I’m around dirty and loud all day, so I don’t need that when I go out.  The inside was shiny and new and clean and quiet, but we sat outside and had a view of the canyon while we dined (just have them put you somewhere the sun is not right in your eyes).  Dan was pretty happy to be able to watch the unwary joggers pass on the path below,  any  chance to spy on people.  As for the food, the salad and desert were very good.  Both of us thought our main course was good but wouldn’t order it again.  We will try again though, because the menu had several selections that looked promising and it was worth going if just for the lovely atmosphere.

I also have to mention that if you haven’t been to Pandora’s down town you might want to try that.  I’m a sucker for down town areas, I love those old buildings and the beautiful yellow brick restaurant is no exception.  It’s an atmosphere engrained with texture and history.  The manager is so friendly and full of ideas.  The menu is not very extensive yet but the food is excellent.  I actually crave their salmon often, and their delectable desserts are made right there.

There are several places in town I like to eat but I won’t mention all of them.  Leave a response and tell us your favorite.

Three Decades

Friday, July 11th, 2008

I forgot to mention, on the 4th I turned thirty, so that’s a pretty big deal.  Being the *almost* baby I didn’t really think that was going to happen.  Dan made coffee cake for breakfast, cake and brownies and ice cream and toppings for everyone in the evening, and my sister Amy fed us strawberry shortcake for lunch.  Needless to say I have almost gained back the measly bit of weight I lost.  Dan is going to KILL me with all of his cooking.  But it seems like a good way to go.
Here’s a secret story about me.  Okay, it’s not a secret, my sister Missie tells it to everyone, she thinks it’s freaking hillarious.  When I was in first grade I started signing my papers Jessica Liberty.  I had heard my parents say they had thought about naming me that, so in my mind it was “supposed to be.”  When my teacher mentioned my middle name they were surprised to find that I had one.  So when I turned eight my dad took me to town and made it legal.  Now you know a little bit more about me.  Use it well.  To this day Missie still complains that she has no middle name, to which I say stop complaining and go get one.  Make it so.

Beautiful Day

What a crazy, exhausting, beautiful day it was.  Danielle and Caleb’s wedding was a great experience for me.  The ceremony was lovely.  These two seem to be opposites, but they go together so well.  Thanks for letting me be a part of the first day of the rest of your lives together.
Here are a few of my favorites.
